Very fun little game indeed, I really like the different bad guys and how you had to employ different tactics for each and the different environments of the forest and the cave. Only flaw I found was in the cave after you get the key, if you die you will respown at the enterence which is now your goal meaning you don't have to carefully escape the cave. If when you picked up the key you respowned where the key was, this would be better. But that's a very little point in a very enjoyable little experinc!

HELOP Y CANT I FIND IM CONFUSD *VERY*. _.

Thanks a lot for the video! Sorry you could not had the best experience. The light in the lantern starts to fade after some time, in your gameplay it was really dark so that makes it difficult, try to find small jars to recharge lantern.

The key was a bit dark and hard to find to be honest, but it should be near some scary place for example skeletons or something like that :P.

Anyway thanks for playing it and i hope you give the game a second chance to have the experience we intended when people played it!

creepy

Tahanks a lot for playing the game and making a video! Its really great for us to see someone we don't know doing it. You could be able to finish it and it seems you had some chills in the way.

I hope you had fun beside all the creepy stuff going around it was fun for us working in the user experience.

Thanks again for the video, hope you liked it!

Nice short little game. Liked the sound effects. Ears and Abomination could use some work to make them look better, since they are slow and you can get a good look at them. Couple of things I'd like to see addressed:

  • There is no stamina bar. To keep the game with minimal HUD elements, you could fix this by making the breathing sound effect louder and faster as you run out instead of making it play only when you are completely out of stamina.
  • First two stages and the last one could use some more obstacles, since the open nature of the maps makes evading the monsters a little too easy for my taste.
  • I liked the cave part since you had to observe the enemy movement to find the right moment to pass by them. Ears just starts following you as soon as you see him (That was my observation. He might behave slightly differently). It would be nice if he had similiar movement routes.
  • The entire game seemed a little too bright for my taste. Even when my lantern ran out of fuel, I could see pretty well. Would be nice if you cound add some kind of radial fog to limit how far you can see, since I can see the monsters all across the map and evade them with no problem.
  • The rain effect at the end of the game bugged out for me and covered only bottom half of the screen.
  • Death has no impact. Could use some kind of sound effect and maybe make the camera fall to the ground. Adding some kind of kill animations for each monster would be even better.
  • And lastly, I played the web version and my mouse could leave the game window. Going fullscreen made the game behave normaly.

I guess that is all. As I said at the begining, I found the game entertaining and I hope it gets even better

We greately apretiate your feedback... most of the things you mentioned were left out because of scope / time reasons.

All of what you said will help us make better games in the future!.

Thanks a lot for playing and giving this review. Its really helpful this kind of feedback for future projects. Sorry for the bugs, we knew it was an ambicious project for a week of work but we went forward with this scope leaving some tests/details in the way. Totally agree with all of them, and specially about the death and sprint.

The light is hard to match the taste, i assume that's why most known horror games have the dark calibration screen at the start (we had no time to do it).

Thanks again, and keep it up! See you next jam :D
